It began with a simple RSVP sent to Smoke Signal Studios where we were welcomed by Umi and Aja. Having heard of the event through Boiler Room TV we were in the dark as far as what to expect but THEY HAD AN OPEN BAR; SHOUT OUT TO BOILER ROOM TV Y’ALL.
Anyway let’s keep this going, I have class in 20 minutes. The hour of spoken word was inspiring; it was nice to meet a group of people who share our own ideas. It made us think of what we can push Pro Now to be! Mos Def came on stage and did unreleased tracks (I won’t even bother trying to explain the magic that is seeing a rap god suddenly appear out of thin air and bless us with his magic). MCC got the mic during the open cypher and technically PERFORMED WORLDWIDE.
Knowing me, I won’t get back to this article to polish it anytime soon. There’s not much to say when you have the entire night recorded (s/o to Boiler Room TV).
